MEET THE EVCG TEAM

We’re known as South-East Victoria’s construction company of choice when it comes to accountability and professionalism. But what sets us apart? Our crew bring together a diverse range of skills, local know-how and experiences to our construction company.

A dedicated and highly driven bunch, our workers are detail-oriented, meticulous and put the utmost care into every project. Labourers, carpenters, admin staff and project managers, they cover a wide range of areas within the construction industry and bring an unmatched passion for high-end, high-quality craftsmanship.

We don’t just talk the talk. Hard workers and excellent collaborators, our builders carry out each task with efficiency, determination and transparency, communicating with clients throughout the building process. With a unique vision for the construction industry and an unparalleled work ethic, our team is building more than just homes – they’re building a bright future for regional Victoria.

The Directors, Ingomar Matthes and Benjamin Frew bring different facets to the company. Ben’s Project Management skills and youthful and ambitious drive alongside Ingomar’s wealth of 40 years of building knowledge and local trust conveys their impressive take on the building industry. Our results attest to this: We strive to ‘under promise’ and ‘over deliver.’

THE TEAM

Ben Frew Director

Ben teamed up with Ingomar to start the company in October 2018. He has been EVCG’s Director/Builder and Project Manager since 2019 and is a Licensed Demolisher.

Prior to EVCG – he worked in the Telecommunication industry for over a decade, working his way up from Trainee Technician to Branch Manager before operating his own Communications business. However, Ben’s main interest was in the building industry – having completed new builds and renovations on his own projects and homes over the years while working towards his Project Management qualification.

His first major Commercial construction project was the Bairnsdale Hungry Jack’s Franchise store followed by the Milestone Childcare Centre also in Bairnsdale – and he’s led so many more projects since under the EVCG banner. Ben enjoys the leadership and challenges involved with the projects and managing a big team.

Outside of work, Ben loves spending time with family and friends, traveling and is a keen gardener.

Ingomar Matthes Director

Ingomar teamed up with co-director Ben to start EVCG in late 2018. He is EVCG Director/Builder and looks after the WHS (Work Health and Safety) for the company.

Having completed his apprenticeship in 1982, he is an expert in the field with decades of experience in the construction industry. He is also a Registered Unlimited Domestic builder and Commercial builder. Ingomar has been active in the building industry ever since working in and around the Gippsland region on various Commercial and Residential building projects, including up in the Alpine regions.

He was previously in a franchise, building 40-50 residential homes a year, for 8 years, prior to establishing EVCG. Ingomar has enjoyed being involved again in Commercial building and is active in training and development, assisting in problem solving and sharing his experience and skills with the team.

You’ll often catch Ingomar spending the weekend fishing, enjoying the great outdoors.

Ry Mutimer Director/Residential Supervisor

Ry teamed up with Ben & Ingomar in 2024, where he serves as a Director/Residential Projects Supervisor. After completing his apprenticeship in 2013, he founded his own carpentry business in 2016, successfully running it for eight years.

During this time, Ry also obtained his Limited Domestic Building Licence before collaborating with EVCG. His enthusiasm for all things construction shines through in his work and dedication to the industry.

In his free time, Ry enjoys spending quality moments with his family. When he’s not with them, you can often find him in the water, riding the waves on his surfboard.

John Lizars Manager EVCG Homes

John manages EVCG’s Residential Homes Division. Having joined the company in March 2022 to head EVCG Homes, John has brought with him his immeasurable experience, with years of residential home sales under his belt.

John founded two successful country building franchises and worked in numerous other home building franchises in the area before moving to EVCG.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, he relished the opportunity to establish our company in the home building arena. And with his expertise and professional approach, our clients are definitely in good hands.

When it’s summertime, John can be found outside, camping with his family or friends, enjoying some time on the water.
