About us
EVCG is a group of young, professional combined with respected and experienced builders to form a dynamic, creative and energetic team.
While we are a new player in the Gippsland Commercial Building sector, we have evolved from a one-man show into an ever-expanding construction company with a rich 45-year history of building expertise. Based in Bairnsdale and covering the wider East Gippsland area, our company is defined by exceptional financial capacity, an impeccable reputation for fair dealing and a cooperative and flexible approach to contractual relations.

The Directors, Ingomar Matthes and Benjamin Frew bring different facets to the company. Ben’s Project Management skills and youthful and ambitious drive alongside Ingomar’s wealth of 40 years of building knowledge and local trust brings a unique but impressive take of the building industry. Our results attest to this: We strive to ‘under promise’ and ‘over deliver.’
EVCG’s team is a mix of project manager, foremen, carpenters, labourers and administration staff. We work tirelessly with a team of trusted and local contractors. The mix of contractors we work with goes a long way to delivering a high quality of workmanship, on budget and often ahead of time.

I am a self employed local accountant that has been involved in a number of property development activities in East Gippsland over the years. I have recently used Eastern Victorian Construction Group (EVCG) to build/project manage two commercial projects in Bairnsdale:
Hungry Jacks Bairnsdale
Was a $2.2M build and overall $3.5M project whereby EVCG worked closely with both myself as the owner/developer and the Hungry Jacks design and project management team to deliver a first class quality store here in Bairnsdale. Utilising primarily local contractors, the store was delivered on time (only 16 week build time) and on budget to a standard Hungry Jacks were thrilled with – to the point where Hungry Jacks themselves have since offered EVCG work on projects closer to Melbourne.
Childcare Centre Bairnsdale
Was a $1.4M build and overall $2.2M project. This was a design and construct project whereby EVCG had significant input with both myself, our architect and the future tenant on the design, layout and construction of the project. We had a tight timeline also on this project – 5 months, and delivered again on time and within budget. The building was delivered within specifications for external accreditation for a childcare centre which helped make for a smooth transition for the future tenants to move straight into operations. We were wrapt with this project and believe this building is very functional and will stand the test of time for the future.
Overall I have been really impressed with EVCG on their professional approach to their work, focus on customer satisfaction and accountability. I look forward to working with them on projects in this area in the future.
